RAVENSWOOD — Dollop Coffee plans to open a location in Ravenswood in the old Maiden Voyage Cafe spot soon.

Anyone walking by the former coffee shop at 1636 W. Montrose Ave. over the past few weeks saw the windows papered over while construction crews worked to renovate the storefront’s interior.

Dan Weiss, Dollop’s owner, confirmed that when that coffee shop across from Ravenswood School reopens, it’ll be under the Dollop banner. It will be a “food-forward coffee shop,” he said.

Renovations aren’t quite done on the new location, but Weiss says he aims to have it open sometime in October.

Weiss also announced Dollop taking over Grind Coffee, 4613 N. Lincoln Ave. in Lincoln Square, earlier this month. That cafe is also in the middle of renovations and aims to open the first week of November.

Dollop operates 14 coffee shops across the city.
