Chicago Police responded to an active shooter report at the Lil Durk concert at the United Center Saturday

NEAR WEST SIDE — Chicago Police shut down a concert Saturday night headlined by rapper Lil Durk at the United Center, 1901 W. Madison, after a mistaken report of shots fired.

Videos circulating on social media Sunday showed concertgoers rushing out of the United Center’s main performance hall following the arrival of heavily armed police officers.

Officers were seen directing the evacuation of concertgoers throughout the United Center. Durk was performing as part of the WGCI Summer Jam.

Police said in a statement the report of shots fired was “determined to be a non bona fide incident.” Police could not provide information on the number of officers who responded to the report.

Police also said a woman was stabbed earlier Saturday after an altercation at the concert, according to NBC. The woman reported the incident in person at the 12th District station; police are investigating, according to media reports.

In a statement given to TMZ, United Center representatives said they “are working closely with authorities to investigate all incidents from last evening at the WGCI Summer Jam show.”

“It became apparent for all involved that ending the show early was in everyone’s best interest as the safety of our guests and employees is a priority,” the statement continued. “We are thankful that initial incident reports were false and that guests exited the facility safely.”

The United Center did not immediately respond to Block Club’s request for comment.

Another widely shared video showed concertgoers taking merchandise from an abandoned stand as others fled for the doors.

In a social media post that has since been deleted, Lil Durk told any concertgoers who stole merchandise to “tag me so I can repost y’all crazy a—.” He thanked Chicago for his two back-to-back concerts in the city this weekend.
