PORTAGE PARK — Friends of Schurz High School is organizing a fundraiser at the Culver’s at Six Corners next week.

The nonprofit group will get 15 percent of the proceeds of any sales at the Culver’s, 4939 W. Irving Park Road, made between 10 a.m.- 10 p.m. Wednesday.

“We’ve got a few alumni who are there so be sure to tell them you’re there for Schurz,” Principal Anthony Rodriguez said.

Proceeds from next week’s fundraiser will go towards improving and promoting the high school’s programing and infrastructure.

Earlier this month, the group’s third annual Schurz Schuffle fundraiser raised nearly $5,000 towards installing outdoor tables on campus.

The run “had great weather and we had both in-person at at home runners,” Rodriguez said. “It was much better weather than the first time around we had this, when we dealt with ice and trip hazards.”
