ALBANY PARK — A 7-Eleven in Albany Park was robbed at gunpoint Saturday night.

At about 9:15 p.m., a group of three men entered a 7-Eleven at 2900 W. Montrose Ave. Once inside, one of the men pointed a handgun at an employee behind the counter while the other two men grabbed cash from the register, liquor and boxes of cigarettes, police said.

The employee, who was not injured, told police the three men fled east down an alley after the robbery.

On Sunday, Ald. Rossana Rodriguez (33rd) said robberies at 7-Eleven stores have been reported in several police districts recently.

Police could not confirm if Saturday’s robbery was related to other recent robberies at 7-Elevens in the area, according to Hector Alfaro, a police spokesperson.

Area North detectives continue to investigate, he said.
