PILSEN — A massive 55,000-square-foot music venue is set to open in Pilsen next spring.

The venue, Radius, will open in a repurposed steel factory at 640 W. Cermak Road in February, according to a news release.

Nick Karounos, owner and operator of Concord Music Hall in Logan Square and PRYSM Nightclub in Lincoln Park, has been working on the venue for four years, he said in a statement.

Radius will hold up to 3,800 people and features a state of the art sound system, a VIP mezzanine level, artist lounge, four artist rooms, an outdoor smoking area and nine full bars serving craft beers and cocktails.

“We were looking for a scalable, multi-purpose venue space to house a state of the art concert facility with modern art and design elements at the forefront, and we’ve created it with Radius,” Karounos said.

Inside Radius, guest will find Cermak Hall, a 10,000 square foot multi-purpose event space featuring a stage and full bar.

Cermak Hall is intended for multi-use from weddings, conventions, corporate/private events, the company announced in a press release.

Dillion Francis set to perform on Feb. 29. Other musicians slated for the Radius stage include Carl Cox, Lil Wayne, Alkaline Trio and Bad Religion.

Radius will join other music venues Thalia Hall and the yet-to be-opened Penny Whistle in the neighborhood.
