LOGAN SQUARE — The team behind Andersonville gastropub Little Bad Wolf is opening a new spot in Logan Square.
Owner Sal Ashbach confirmed his team is taking over the former Ugo’s Kitchen & Bar at 2833 W. Armitage Ave.
Ashbach wasn’t ready to divulge many details, but said to expect a new concept with some carryovers from Little Bad Wolf at 1541 W. Bryn Mawr Ave., which serves upscale bar food.
Ashbach is aiming to open the new Logan Square spot in about three months, he said.
Ugo’s, a casual Italian restaurant, closed in March of 2018 after about three years of business. Owner Stephen Hasson told LoganSquarist he closed for personal and financial reasons.
Ashbach and his team ran the counter joint Burger Philosophy in Edgewater before opening Little Bad Wolf in 2014.
Little Bad Wolf is a fusion restaurant serving burgers, tacos, baos and entrees like pan-seared white fish and steak frites. It also has a full bar.
Ashbach and his team — Ankur Joshi and Konstandinos Lappas — bought the Armitage Avenue building for $670,000 in April of 2018, according to Cook County property records.
