CHICAGO — Nisei Lounge is hosting a wake for Wrigleyville’s soon-to-close Taco Bell.

The Taco Bell at 1111 W. Addison St. will close by the end of the month. Long a late-night oasis for Wrigleyville’s revelers, the building will be demolished starting Nov. 1 and replaced with a multi-story retail building. Nisei’s team plans to say goodbye with an alcohol-infused sendoff party.

“… We know greatness, and the Wrigleyville Taco Bell always had it, if not in the food or the service, but definitely in the people watching,” Nisei wrote in a Facebook post for the event.

The bar will have drink specials and, if the Taco Bell is still open, it’ll serve up authentic Taco Bell grub.  Attendees will share their stories about the restaurant and “toast it in all its refried-bean-and-beer-absorbing glory one last time,” Nisei wrote.

The event runs 3-7 p.m. Oct. 28 at Nisei Lounge, 3439 N. Sheffield Ave. The bar asked people to RSVP on Facebook.
