DOWNTOWN Chicago’s iconic food festival is returning to Grant Park a few months later than usual, with a new set of artists and plenty of returning favorites.

The Taste of Chicago gets underway Sept. 8-10. The festival usually happens in July but was pushed back this year due to the NASCAR Street Race.

Fifteen food trucks and over 35 restaurants and vendors will be at the Taste, including Cumin Club Indian Kitchen, Sapori Trattoria, Arun’s Thai Restaurant, The Original Rainbow Cone, Healthy Substance Kitchen, LC Pho Restaurant and Yum Dum.

Organizers have added festival entrances and “streamlined the guest entrance process,” according to a press release from the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events.

There’s no admission fee, and all vendors accept cash or credit.

Headliners taking the main stage are: Master’s of The Mic, Doug E. Fresh, EPMD, KRS-One, Slick Rick, Proyecto Uno, Whitney and Lupita Infante, supported by Chicago’s all-female mariachi group Mariachi Sirenas.

Here’s the Taste Main Stage schedule:

In addition to food and music, visitors can partake in dance classes, karaoke competitions, cocktail lounges and a wine garden.

The Taste began in 1980 and has remained a Chicago tradition despite being held as a “Taste of Chicago To Go” event during the pandemic.

The fest will run from noon-8 p.m. Sept. 8-10. For more information, click here.
