RIVER NORTH — Nationally acclaimed restaurant Yardbird has opened its first Chicago location in River North.
The restaurant, 530 N. Wabash St., is known for its modern twist on Southern food and extensive bourbon collection, which extends to its cocktails and bourbon flights.
The menu features classic buttermilk biscuits, Llewellyn’s Fine Fried Chicken and deviled eggs. The restaurant’s Chicago menu will also feature lobster mac and cheese, beef carpaccio, porchetta and more.
Guests with a sweet tooth can have their pick among dessert options, such as a honey lemon buttercake, banana pudding cheesecake and blueberry French toast fritters.
The interior, designed by the Rockwell Group, features an arched entryway, high ceilings and a “floating” bourbon room above the bar on the ground level, according to a news release.
The bourbon room, which is surrounded with bottles, is available for private dining for groups of up to eight people. Rental pricing starts at $2,500.
Yardbird is open 5-10 p.m. Monday-Friday, with a 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday brunch service.
Owned by 50 Eggs Hospitality Group, the River North location is Yardbird’s seventh restaurant with other locations in Miami Beach, Los Angeles, Dallas, Washington, D.C, Las Vegas and Singapore. An eighth location is planned to next year for Denver.
Chef Jeff McInnis and the Miami Beach restaurant have been nominated for the prestigious James Beard Award.
