FULTON MARKET — Starbucks is closing Italian bakery and cafe Princi after almost three years.

The shop at 1000 W. Randolph St. will close Sept. 3, employees confirmed to Block Club Chicago. Starbucks representatives did not return requests for comment.

The Princi cafes were created by Rocco Princi in 1980. Fulton Market’s spot offers artisanal bread, Milanese pastries, pizzas, cocktails and coffee.

Starbucks became an investor in Princi in 2018 and opened the Fulton Market location at the corner of Morgan and Randolph streets later that year.
