CHICAGO — The city has reopened. And Fourth of July lands on a Sunday this year. That means there will be a full weekend of festivities across Chicago. In a late-day surprise Friday, Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced a Saturday fireworks show, though the city didn’t reveal where the fireworks will be shot off.

Some events are selling out quickly. Here’s where you can eat, drink, cruise and watch fireworks this holiday weekend:

Downtown/The Loop

Chicago Fireworks

  • When: 9:30 p.m. Saturday
  • Where: They will be visible along the lakefront from Grand Avenue to at least 55th Street.

Grant Park Music Festival Independence Day Salute

  • When: 6:30-8 p.m. Friday and Saturday
  • Where: Jay Pritzker Pavilion, 201 E. Randolph St.

Mystic Blue, Odyssey and Spirit of Chicago Fourth of July Cruises

  • When: Times vary Sunday
  • Where: Navy Pier, 600 E. Grand Ave.

Chicago Pier Pressure Pre-July 4th Yacht Party

  • When: Board 11 p.m Saturday
