Cook County Sheriff’s Office’s Tails of Redemption Program is partnering with Fetching Tails Foundation and Rescue Pack Chicago for a drive-up pet food pantry in Little Village.

LITTLE VILLAGE — A pop-up will have free dog food, toys and jackets for Little Village pet owners Saturday.

The drive-up pet food pantry is 9-11 a.m. Saturday. People in need can access the pantry by going inside the parking lot on Washtenaw Avenue on 26th Street. It was organized by Cook County Sheriff’s Office’s Tails of Redemption with Fetching Tails Foundation and Rescue Bank Chicago.

Organizers will give away dog food, treats, leashes, jackets and pet toys, said Linda Wakes, co-founder of Fetching Tails Foundation.

The group has partnered with the Sheriff’s Office for multiple pop-up pet food giveaways during the pandemic.

Given the hardship resulting from the coronavirus pandemic, Wakes said people who love their pets are struggling to feed themselves and their pets.

“We are trying to do our part to help people that need the help,” Wakes said. “We’re all in this together.”
