BUCKTOWN — A women-led holiday pop-up shop in Wicker Park has found a more permanent home in Bucktown.

The Chicago Makers Pop Up Shop opened its doors Saturday at 2064 N. Damen Ave. The shop will feature art and wares from 30 locally-owned businesses.

The store’s owners, Monica Little and Anna Romo, teamed up last year to create the original Chicago Makers Pop-Up at 1279 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Wicker Park.

“We are so excited to open a new location in Bucktown,” Little and Romo said in an email. “It’s been a major confirmation that we are bringing so much good to the artists and small businesses of Chicago by connecting them to the community!”

With a focus on holiday gifts, the Wicker Park shop featured 27 local artists and makers, including 24 women-owned businesses as well as several Latino-, Black- and LGBTQ-owned businesses. The pop-up offered kids’ crafts, hand-bound notebooks, potted plants, ceramic pottery, woodwork, face masks, lanyards and more.

Referring to the Bucktown store as an “extended pop-up,” Little and Romo signed a 12-month lease at the new storefront and plan to rotate small businesses within the store every few months.
