ROGERS PARK — Independent businesses are encouraging Rogers Park residents to shop local this holiday season by offering a cash rebate program and a business corridor art walk.

The Rogers Park Business Alliance is bringing back its “Live Love Shop Rogers Park” holiday rebate program. The program allows for up to $75 in cash rebate for shopping at local, independently-owned shops.

Those who collect $150 or more in receipts from local stores can get a $50 rebate, and those spending $200 or more are eligible for a $75 rebate. Receipts must be from at least four different Rogers Park businesses.

The shop local rebate program kicks off Saturday, which is Small Business Saturday, and runs through Dec. 31.

Submissions for the rebate program can be entered virtually. For more rules on the program, click here.

To mark Small Business Saturday, the local business group is unveiling a new 3D art walk along the Howard Street commercial corridor.

The art walk will be an extension of the Chalk Howard Street festival, which was held virtually this year. For the holiday art walk, artist Nate Baranowski will install 3D art in the windows of local storefronts.

Participating businesses include Athena Board Game Cafe, Lost Eras and Sol Cafe. For more on the art walk, click here.

The Rogers Park business community will host a “virtual kick off” for the shop local season from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

The event will be live streamed from Nibbles & Nosh on the Rogers Park Business Alliance’s Instagram account. During the event, local business owners will talk about the holiday season and the offers they have for Small Business Saturday.
