AUBURN GRESHAM — A coronavirus testing site on the Southwest Side that closed because of flooding has reopened.

A pop-up location at Studio Move Grill, 210 W. 87th St., temporarily closed earlier this week due to heavy rains and flooding, but is now back at full operating capacity. The site is drive-thru only, and is open seven days a week from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

According to ABC7, the test administered at Studio Movie Grill is less intrusive and allows people to test themselves, reducing risk of contact, and the need for personal protective equipment.

While anyone with symptoms can receive a test, special allowances have been made for first responders, healthcare workers, and other frontline employees who are not exhibiting symptoms.

The site is one of several on the South and West Sides that have opened in recent weeks to make testing more accessible to those in underserved communities.
