LINCOLN SQUARE — There are a lot of holiday pop-ups this season, but there’s only one dedicated to “Die Hard.”

Through Dec. 31 the The Sixth, 2202 W. Lawrence Ave., is transforming into “Yippee Ki-Yay.” The Christmas pop-up bar serving drinks inspired by the 1988 film — one of the greatest Christmas stories of all time.

Manager Dylan Seo and his team came up with a cocktail menu inspired by the film, with drinks inspired by famous quotes or characters like John McClane, Hans Gruber, Sgt. Al Powell, Holly Gennaro McClane, Argyle the limo driver and more.

Yippee Ki-Yay also features several Die Hard scenes, toys and props on display along with custom artwork and photos inspired by the film.

Some of these “easter eggs” include a stuffed dummy of Tony, the deceased radical wearing a sweatshirt that reads “Now I Have A Machine Gun. Ho-Ho-Ho,” and a giant teddy bear wearing a red bow like the one from the movie.

The cocktail bar will also be decked out in 80’s Christmas decorations — think Nakatomi Plaza — including lots of gold, garland and wrapping paper windows.
