CHICAGO — A man tried to pull a child into an alley Tuesday in Morgan Park.

At 11:15 a.m., the child — whose age and gender were not available — got off a bus and a man started following him or her, according to a Chicago Police community alert. While in the 11400 block of South Throop Street, the man grabbed the child’s shoulder and tried to pull the child into an alley.

The child kicked the man and ran away, police said. The man escaped.

The man was 30-40 years old with a patchy beard and brown eyes, police said. He wore a black hat and gray hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with information about the attempted kidnapping was asked to call police at 312-744-8271.
