EDGEWATER — Greek Fest is coming back to Edgewater beginning Friday for its 58th consecutive year.

Located at St. Andrew’s Greek Orthodox Church at 5649 N. Sheridan Rd., the festival will include traditional Greek eats, live music and more.

The festival runs from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday. On Saturday and Sunday, the festival is from at noon until 10 p.m.

It’s three-day party that features all things Hellenic. There will be a Greek DJ along with a Greek band and a Hellenic dance troupe.

For kids, expect to see plenty of activities, including a bouncy castle, games and reptiles from the Chicago Herpetological Society (but not the Humboldt Park Lagoon Alligator).

And of course, the food. Attendees will get to eat gyros — lots of gyros. There will also be pork souvlaki pita sandwiches, pastitsio (Greek lasagna) and vegetarian moussaka (an eggplant Greek lasagna).
