CHICAGO — A Gold Coast bar is asking people to gobble down turkey testicles for a pre-Thanksgiving eating contest.
Timothy O’Toole’s, 622 N. Fairbanks Court, is hosting turkey testicle and pumpkin pie eating contests on Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving. The turkey testicles will be deep fried.
The person who manages to eat the most turkey testicles will win a frozen turkey they can use for Thanksgiving the next day. The winner of the pumpkin pie eating contest will get a $25 gift certificate.
Those who are more into turkey, less into testicles, can grab a more traditional Thanksgiving dinner of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans and cranberry sauce for $15 at the bar. (Though O’Toole’s will also offer a “bucket of balls” for $11 for those who want turkey testicles but don’t want to compete.)
The event runs 11 a.m. Wednesday-3 a.m. Thursday at Timothy O’Toole’s Pub, 622 N. Fairbanks Court. The turkey testicle contest is at 9 p.m. and the pumpkin pie contest is at 11 p.m. Registration must be done in person before 9 p.m.
