CHICAGO — A shooting in North Park left one man dead and another wounded Sunday morning.
At 10:34 a.m., two men were in a home in the 5700 block of North Spaulding Avenue when at least one of them was shot, police said. The man later died, while another man received non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital.
Police originally said the man who was killed had been attempting to commit a home invasion when he and the other man struggled over a gun and the other man shot him to death. They later said they had been unable to confirm the slain man had been breaking into the home.
An investigation was ongoing.
