ANDERSONVILLE — Another dentist’s office is coming to Andersonville, this time taking over a portion of the former Reza’s restaurant on Clark Street.
Dentologie will open this spring at 5255 N. Clark St., according to signage in the storefront. The office will take up the dining and event space that belonged to Reza’s, the pioneering Persian restaurant that closed last summer after 40 years in business.
The dentist’s office will not take over the corner storefront of the building, which was also occupied by Reza’s before upscale convenience store Foxtrot looked to rent the spot. Small business owners in Andersonville have protested Foxtrot’s interest in the storefront, causing the building’s landlord to consider other tenants.
The corner storefront remains vacant, and building management is speaking to multiple parties interested in renting the space, said Mitch Goltz, principal at GW Properties. Goltz bought the building from Reza’s owners last year.
Dentologie, a tech-focused dental practice, will be at least the seventh dental office in Andersonville.
Others include Ravenswood Dental Group, Andersonville Dental, 1st Family Dental of Andersonville, Lakeshore Dental Studio, Today’s Dentistry, Northside Dental and Little Chompers.
Dentologie was founded in Chicago in 2013 with a model of making dental office visits more like high-end retail experiences than medical offices, according to the company. Dentologie has 10 offices and opened its first suburban location this year in Oak Park.
Dentologie plans to open as many as 12 offices this year and in 2025, according to a press release.
