CHICAGO — Wildfire smoke traveling down from Canada made Chicago experience the worst air quality of any big city in the world Tuesday.
On Wednesday, the “very unhealthy” air quality stuck around, according to AirNow, the official U.S. Air Quality Index, but things are expected to improve by Thursday.
Vulnerable people should stay inside, shut windows and run air purifiers or central air with strong filters, if possible. Consider wearing an N95 or KN95 mask if you go outside. See more tips to protect yourself here.
