LOGAN SQUARE — Salad chain Sweetgreen is coming to Logan Square.

A Sweetgreen outpost is moving into Logan Apartments, the massive development that replaced the Discount Megamall at 2500 N. Milwaukee Ave., according to Chicago Cityscape, a site that tracks city building permits.

Sweetgreen will join a small-format Target store, Big Wig Tacos, Jeni’s Ice Cream and K-Fire Korean BBQ among other retailers in the complex.

A city permit issued July 26 shows the fast casual restaurant chain is making $837,585 in improvements to the Milwaukee Avenue space, such as installing new partition walls and ceilings, ahead of the opening.

Sweetgreen serves customizable salads and grain bowls, a healthy alternative to fast food restaurants.

Founded by a trio of Georgetown University students in 2006, the restaurant chain now has more than 150 locations nationwide.

It’s unclear when the Logan Square Sweetgreen will open. The company didn’t immediately return a message seeking comment.
