LOGAN SQUARE — An outdoor art fair is coming this weekend to Palmer Square Park .

The first Palmer Square Art Fair is set for 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. More than 30 vendors and makers, most of them from the Logan Square area, will be selling everything from art prints and jewelry to ceramics and vintage clothing, organizer Hannah Sellers said.

For a full list of vendors, visit the event website.

Sellers is a Logan Square-based artist who makes apparel, screen prints and more under the moniker catdroool. She said she was inspired to launch Palmer Square Art Fair after watching other artists get shut out of other fairs because of high vendor fees.

Sellers set Palmer Square Art Fair’s vendor fee at $30 to ensure there’s no barrier to entry. Other fair organizers charge $100 or more, she said.

“I wanted to take matters into my own hands and create a space for artists to meet other artists and create that platform for everyone to share,” she said.

Sellers’ city-approved fair will be held on the east side of the park by Humboldt Boulevard. If everything goes according to plan, she plans to host similar events in the future.

“I saw an opportunity to create a really good sense of community,” she said. “I really hope that people feel that ambiance and just have a great time meeting people.”
