ALBANY PARK — Police say they’ve arrested and charged a man for allegedly posing as a package delivery driver so he could force his way into a woman’s home and sexually assault her last month.

Forrest Petersen, 57, was arrested Wednesday around 6:55 p.m. at his home in the 900 block of Village Drive in suburban Round Lake.

He’s expected to appear in court Friday on charges of home invasion and aggravated criminal sexual assault.

Petersen is accused of forcing himself into a home in the the 4200 block of North Francisco Avenue on around 8 p.m. on Dec. 29.

He allegedly held a package as he walked up to the front door of the Albany Park home. When a 29-year-old woman answered the door to accept the package, Petersen allegedly force his way into the home, grabbed the woman and sexually assaulted her, police said.

The woman fought the man off and he fled, police said.

Police had previously released surveillance photos of the struggle inside the home and say it led to Petersen’s identification and arrest.
