BUCKTOWN — Before a developer can build a massive driving range and restaurant inside the former Vienna Beef Factory Store in Bucktown, Ald. Scott Waguespack (32nd) wants to hear from neighbors.
Join the alderman and his staff at a community meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the old beef factory, 2501 N. Damen Ave.

The developer’s proposal, first reported by Crain’s, calls for a driving range called Drive Shack that includes a restaurant, bar and indoor entertainment amenities.
Currently, Drive Shack has locations in Orlando; Richmond, Virginia; West Palm Beach, Florida; and Raleigh, North Carolina.
The 9.3-acre project would sit on the western edge of the Chicago River and requires a zoning change.
