PILSEN — The 47th Annual Fiesta del Sol, a celebration of Latino heritage and culture, is set to kick off Thursday in Pilsen.

The popular, four-day fest attracts more than a million people throughout the weekend. It features live music, food, carnival rides, children activities, art exhibits and more.

Free health and housing resources will also be available during the festival.

The outdoor event will be held at 1400 W. Cermak Road, between Morgan Street and Ashland Avenue, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.

The annual event sponsored by Pilsen Neighbors Community Council raises money for annual community events and the Fiesta del Sol Guadalupe A. Reyes Scholarship Program.

Throughout the weekend, Pilsen Neighbors Community Council will also host various events including a Driver’s License Reinstatement Expo from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Benito Juarez Community Academy, 1450 W. Cermak Road.
