DOWNTOWN — A woman-focused social club is opening its first Chicago location in Fulton Market this spring.

The Wing will open a coworking space at 811 W. Fulton St. in Fulton Market in late March, said spokeswoman Zara Rahim. The organization already has locations with thousands of members on the East and West coasts.

The coworking space will be roughly 9,000 square feet with views of the Fulton Market sign, a quiet room, cafe and restaurant, beauty room, a lactation room, a library, a conference room and amenities like liquor and flowers.

Besides providing women with a space to work, the Wing serves as a social club: It hosts events where women can network, support circles for new moms, Q&As with celebrities and politicians and movie screenings, among other things.

“A lot of our members join because they were really seeking — outside of this general beautiful space to work — were really looking for a community,” Rahim said. “Wing gives you an opportunity to network, grow your professional circle, grow your personal community engagement.”

Membership costs $215 per month and covers use of the Chicago coworking space and access to events and other Wing members. A $250 membership provides all of those benefits plus access to other Wing coworking spaces in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Wing has about 6,000 members across the country. Those who wish to join may apply online.
