CHICAGO — Christkindlmarket is coming.

Barriers have been put up around Daley Plaza and construction workers could be seen erecting one of the marketplace’s buildings on Friday. Construction on the pop-up marketplace typically begins this time of year.

The market is set to open Nov. 16, according to its website. The German-themed holiday festival will remain open at the plaza, 50 W. Washington St., until Christmas Eve. Guests will be able to get drinks like hot cocoa and mulled wine, eat snacks and shop.

And for those horrified at the thought of a Christmas market going up before Halloween even hits, remember this: The “most wonderful time of the year” is now less than 60 days away.
