Grubhub planned to put large food sculptures in neighborhood parks, but backlash from neighbors killed the plan.

Restaurant owners have said the service fees and commissions take huge chunks out of their profits, which they can't afford amid coronavirus restrictions on indoor dining.

Bijan Choya Early, 24, suffered nerve damage from the May 15 attack that prevents her from using both hands.

Community leaders already have raised more than $4,700 for Bijan Choya Early, who was struck by a driver Friday outside Ms. T's Southern Fried Chicken.

The man was charged with multiple felonies in the Friday incident. Grubhub said he was using someone else's account to make deliveries.

The city will require food delivery services to tell customers how much money they're charging restaurants, which are struggling during the pandemic, for deliveries.

"They're driving these restaurants into a deeper hole," one restaurant consultant said. "They're all fed up with it, but they feel it is a necessary evil."

Grubhub will also give money from its Donate the Change program to charitable groups that help restaurants and drivers impacted by coronavirus.
