Chicago police said one shooter was behind separate attacks that killed three people and critically wounded four others. The man was fatally shot by Evanston officers.

Police said the victims ranged in age from 15 to 81, and they included a security guard at an apartment building and a University of Chicago student. Police think the same man is responsible for all the shootings but his motive was not known.
