AUBURN GRESHAM — Neighbors can tour new street corridor investments, community-led gardens and artist havens across the South Side during this weekend’s Open House Chicago

More than 170 sites across more than 20 neighborhoods will open for public tours during the Chicago Architecture Center’s annual festival, allowing visitors to explore the city’s history, marvel at century-old architecture and witness new economic improvements spurred by community leaders.

CAC’s Angela Esposito details some Open House Chicago highlights:

Admissions to sites in Auburn Gresham, Englewood and Chatham are free. Tours to Englewood sites on Saturday coincide with Growing Home’s annual HarvestFest and Sunday with Englewood Branded’s annual Fall Festival

Visitors to Chatham’s Bourdeau Griffin Design Center can participate in sketch lessons with artist and co-founder Gerald Griffin. A guided tour in Auburn Gresham Saturday will include an oral history of the neighborhood and the terra cotta building that is now the Healthy Lifestyle Hub.

Here are some of the dazzling sites you can tour. Check the individual site listings for hours of operation and more details.
