LINCOLN SQUARE — After more than a decade in Lincoln Square, neighborhood restaurant Fork is now closed.

Fork opened at 4600 N. Lincoln Ave. in 2011, serving American cuisine, wine and cocktails alongside charcuterie and cheese flights.

The restaurant’s owners announced the business’s closure Tuesday morning in Facebook and Instagram posts.

“With mixed emotions, we announce the permanent closure of Fork Restaurant. It has been an incredible journey, and we are immensely grateful for your unwavering support throughout the years,” the post said.

Fork’s owners were not immediately available for comment.

In addition to thanking loyal customers for their support over the years, the owners also said the restaurant, located on the corner of a prime Lincoln Square commercial corridor, is for sale.

“If you, or anyone you know, is interested in taking over this culinary gem, please reach out to us. We believe that Fork has the potential to continue to serve the community with culinary excellence and warm hospitality,” the post said.

The restaurant’s food and liquor licenses were renewed in 2021 and are valid until Sept. 15, city records show.

Earlier this year, Essex Realty Group Inc. announced the sale of the 4600 N. Lincoln Ave. property, which contains Fork, as part of a $13 million, two-building deal.

Messages left with Essex were not immediately returned.
