CHICAGO — Riot Fest has announced the lineup for special shows both before and after the three-day festival, which runs Sept. 14-16.
Aftershows begin Sept. 13, with shows taking place at Metro, Concord Music Hall, Aragon Ballroom and more. The first show features Tegan and Sara with Charlie Hanson at Bottom Lounge. And Kim Gordon, the legendary vocalist/bassist for Sonic Youth, will perform a solo show at Empty Bottle on Sept. 16.
More then twenty groups are included in the aftershow lineup, including The Interrupters, Sleeping With Sirens, Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Frank Turner.
Different venues have different age restrictions, however. Shows at Concord, Bottom Lounge, Cobra and some shows at Reggies are 17+. The Metro, Aragon and Chop Shop shows will be 18+. And Empty Bottle, House of Blues and select shows at Reggies are 21+.
Danzig will be performing the entirety of their self-titled debut album at an aftershow on Sept. 17 at Aragon. Punk band Thursday will also perform their album “War All The Time” at Metro on Sept. 16, with Champaign emo band Braid opening up.
