Heatwave Music Festival Blazes Weekend With EDM Performances At Northerly Island [PHOTOS]
The festival, which started in 2022, was relocated from Douglass Park after neighbors protested the number of private shows taking over the public park during the summer.

NORTHERLY ISLAND — Thousands of fans flocked to Northerly Island to listen to their favorite EDM artists as the weekend weather shifted from summery to cool and drizzly.
Saturday’s sunshine and 80-degree temperatures brought festival-goers to the three stages hosting artists such as GRiZ, Whethan and Kx5, which consists of Chicago native Kaskade and deadmau5.
The lineup on much-cooler Sunday included headliners such as Gryffin, Tiësto, Slander and Malaa, among nearly 20 other artists.
The new location for the festival featured art installations, the world’s largest rubber duck, a few food trucks and bars. The grounds also had two water filling stations, which at times drew long lines of parched patrons.
Heatwave is led Auris Presents, which operates Chicago venues RADIUS, Concord Music Hall, PRYSM and more.
