ANDERSONVILLE — Nothing Bundt Cakes is working to open in Andersonville, the latest dessert parlor chain to expand into the neighborhood.
The national bundt cake chain is opening at 4918 N. Clark St., according to Nothing Bundt Cakes’ website and building records. It will move into a ground-floor store in one of Andersonville’s newest apartment complexes.
Work on the shop is underway, with the city granting a permit April 27 to start construction of a commercial bakery at the site, building records show. A permit to hang an exterior sign for the business has yet to be approved.
The Andersonville location will be the second outpost in the city for Nothing Bundt Cakes, which started in 1997 in Las Vegas and has nearly 450 locations in 40 states. Nothing Bundt Cakes has a location in Lincoln Park and 12 suburban locations, including in Skokie.
The company’s website said the Andersonville location is “coming soon.” Store management did not respond to a request for comment Monday.

Nothing Bundt Cakes is the third national dessert chain to set its eyes on Andersonville.
Jeni’s Ice Cream opened earlier this year on Clark Street, taking over the longtime home of locally owned George’s Ice Cream & Sweets. Kilwins ice cream and chocolate shop is also working to open near the corner of Clark Street and Foster Avenue.
Nothing Bundt Cakes will be in an apartment complex that opened in 2020 and includes an urgent care.
