Fiesta Back Of The Yards Returns To 47th Street Next Month

BACK OF THE YARDS — Neighbors can expect live performances, local vendors and carnival rides at next month’s Fiesta Back of the Yards.

The annual family-friendly festival is noon-10 p.m. June 16-18 on 47th Street between Ashland and Damen avenues. Admission is free.

There will be vendors with food and local goods, carnival rides and games. A detailed schedule of performances on the two stages inside the festival will be posted to the Back of the Yards Neighborhood Council’s Facebook page soon.

The neighborhood council is also hosting a scholarship ceremony on the last day of the festival.

Five $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to Back of the Yards students enrolled or planning to enroll at a college or university. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. June 2. The application and requirements to apply are listed here.
