CHICAGO — A storm dropping large hail west of the city is moving toward the Chicago area within the hour, according to an alert.
The thunderstorm is producing hail up to 2 inches in diameter along Interstate 39 and is quickly moving east, the National Weather Service tweeted.
The storm, which is already producing darkened skies over the city, could bring hail, downpours and high winds, according to the alert. Chicagoans should take shelter indoors until the storm passes.
