OAKWOOD BEACH — The Silver Room Block Party is back for another year at Oakwood Beach this summer.

The two-day festival is noon-10 p.m. July 29-30 at the beach, 4100 S. DuSable Lake Shore Drive. Earlybird weekend passes are available starting at $75, plus a service see. Single-day tickets — along with the artist lineup — will be released later, organizers said. All prices are expected to rise once the schedule is announced.

Tickets are available online. Children younger than 13 get free admission.

Billed as a celebration of culture, the event offers an eclectic mix of vendors, artists and food and has drawn big names in the past, including Austin native and comedian Hannibal Buress, who performed last year.

Now in its 18th year, the family-friendly event moved from Hyde Park to the beach last year to accommodate more people. Silver Room owner Eric Williams previously said the event had outgrown 53rd Street, where it drew as many as 40,000 attendees.
