WRIGLEYVILLE — Fans can celebrate Cubs wins at Wrigley Field with a free chicken sandwich from Chick-fil-A at one of the chain’s new locations.
A Wrigleyville outpost for the fast food chain opened Thursday at 3500 N. Clark St. The owner, Nick Pulgine, is from suburban Aurora and started working at Chick-fil-A in 2016 as a director of operations at his hometown restaurant, according to a news release.
“It’s a dream come true to open a Chick-fil-A restaurant in my home city, and in a neighborhood with such a special fandom and community,” Pulgine said. “I can’t wait to build my own ‘team’ in the kitchen, here at Chick-fil-A Wrigleyville, engage with the Cubs culture and truly make every customer experience a home run.”
Customers can redeem a free sandwich through the Chick-fil-A ONE app and pick it up at the Wrigleyville location — or any other participating location — when the team wins at home.
In honor of the restaurant’s opening, Chick-fil-A will also donate $25,000 to Feeding America, a nonprofit, nationwide network of more than 200 food banks. The organization will distribute the money to its partners in the greater Chicagoland area, according to the news release.
Chick-fil-A announced plans to open four locations throughout the city this year. They’re expected to provide about 350 jobs.
The Wrigleyville Chick-fil-A is open 7 a.m.-midnight Monday-Saturday .
