NEAR SOUTH SIDE — The Chicago Comics and Entertainment Expo, known as C2E2, is back this weekend at McCormick Place — with Chris Evans from “Captain America” scheduled to appear.
The event is Friday-Sunday at the convention center, 2301 S. Lake Shore Drive, and single-day tickets for Friday and Sunday are still available online. Now in its 13th season, the speculative fiction convention draws nearly 100,000 attendees each year, giving them the opportunity to meet their favorite artists and entertainers.
Also scheduled to appear is “Wakanda Forever” actor Tenoch Huerta, “Smallville” stars Tom Welling and Kristin Kreuk and Chicago icon Svengoolie, who will take pictures with fans and sign autographs Friday and Saturday.
Fans can buy merchandise from exhibitors in the Artist Alley, check out panel discussions or watch cosplayers go head to head at the Cosplay Central Crown Championships, a global competition where the best of the best compete for fame, glory, cash prizes and tickets to next year’s convention.
