Small Cheval Burgers Are Coming To Wrigley Field, While Sox Park Is Getting Mangonadas

The North and South side baseball teams unveiled their menu changes this year — and they look decadent and delicious.

CHICAGO — A gloriously cheesy burger from Small Cheval is coming to Wrigley Field this year — and the South Side’s White Sox will have mangonadas, among other menu updates.

The North Side team announced its updated park menu Thursday, saying in a news release it’s partnering with Small Cheval — the takeout offshoot of the famed Au Cheval burger joint in the West Loop — to serve up burgers in the Budweiser bleachers.

This season’s menu will also include:

  • Crispy chicken bao buns with Thai chili sauce, arugula, cucumber and carrot.
  • Greek loaded fries, which are steak fries that come topped with gyro meat, feta, olives, tomatoes, red onions, pepperoncini and feta cream. They’re served in a souvenir helmet bowl.
  • Burger brats that are split and filled with ground beef, cheddar, mustard and sauerkraut. They come on a brioche bun.
  • Crispy chicken tortas feature mayo ancho cabbage and cotija cheese.
  • Quesabirria tacos with barbacoa, onions, Chihuahua cheese and ancho chili sauce.
  • A 26-ounce beer served in a souvenir beer bat cup.

Longtime vendors Vienna Beef, Home Run Inn Pizza and others remain, as well.

The Cubs have also partnered with Coke and will return to serving its products.

Not to be outdone, the White Sox debuted their menu changes this week.

The team released photos on social media that show mangonadas — drinks made with mangos, chamoy and Tajin —with chamoy-covered straws.

The team’s photos also show other new menu items:

  • The “champagne of dogs” will be a half-pound, foot-long Vienna Beef frank served on a brioche bun with Vidalia relish and habanero mustard.
  • There will be smoked rib tips from Hog Wild.
  • “Colossal” potato wedges with loaded baked potato dip.
  • Pineapple and cucucmber chamoy skewers with lime.
  • “The Authentic” will be a decadent sandwich with turkey, ham, cheddar, wiss, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions and dressing on a wheat baguette.
  • Fans can now grab the park’s chicken tenders and fries in a souvenir helmet bowl.
  • There will be hot honey chicken loaded fries featuring popcorn chicken with hot honey barbecue sauce.
  • Seared ribeye steak sandwiches with chimichurri on a hoagie roll.
