CHICAGO — Chicagoans can head to the polls for the April 4 runoff election.

Election Day isn’t until April 4 — but early voting has begun, giving Chicagoans an option to cast their ballot ahead of time to avoid long Election Day lines.

Here’s what you need to know:

What Is Early Voting?

Early voting allows Chicagoans to cast their ballots before Election Day, which is April 4 for this cycle.

During early voting, Chicagoans can go to any early voting site to cast a ballot — it doesn’t matter which ward they live in.

Most early voting sites are also open on Election Day.

All ballots cast during early voting are final. Voters can’t try to change their ballot after submitting it, nor can they try to vote more than once.

When Does Early Voting Start?

Early voting for this election started March 20.

Early Voting Locations And Hours

Note: You do not need to live in a ward to vote at that ward’s early voting site. Chicagoans can vote at any early voting site.

All early voting sites are fully accessible to people with disabilities, according to the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners.
