ROSELAND — Roseland Community Hospital hopes to welcome community members at its Spring Health Fest this weekend.
The event, which is being held to address health resource disparities in the Far South Side, is 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the hospital, 45 W. 111th St. There will be free community resources, health screenings, food, access to job opportunities, raffles and prizes for attendees, according to a news release.
Attendees can also expect a dental van and live DJ.
“We are ecstatic to bring back our Spring Health Fest this year, and are looking forward to an amazing kickoff event,” hospital Executive Director Chrislin Flanagan said in a statement. “Our goal with this event is to give back to the community and create change through alleviating the insecurities that so many of the residents of this area face.”
Prizes, including three grocery gift cards, will be given out starting at 2 p.m., spokesperson Madeline Bartusch said. There will be giveaways of diapers and hygiene and feminine products, plus free lunches, Bartusch said.
Winners of the grocery card giveaway must be present to receive them, Bartusch said.
Human resources from the hospital will be at the event with information on clinical and non-clinical job positions, according to the hospital.
There will also be health screenings, including free HIV testing, blood pressure screenings, dental exams and information on mammogram screenings, according to the hospital.
