Driver Seriously Injured Woman In South Shore Hit-And-Run Thursday

The driver was last seen going west on 79th Street, police said.

SOUTH SHORE — Police are looking for a driver who seriously injured a woman in a hit-and-run Thursday.

At 8:40 p.m., the driver of a 2013-2016 Chevrolet Malibu hit a woman crossing the street at 79th Street and East End Avenue, police said. The woman was seriously injured.

The driver took off, going west on 79th Street toward Stony Island Avenue, police said. The car had damage to its right-side front end, hood and windshield, police said.

The light-colored car — possibly gray — also had a “long dark mark” on its driver-side door, police said. It’s missing a right side mirror, police said. The car had Illinois plates.
