ROGERS PARK — Chicago police are asking Rogers Park neighbors to be on the lookout for a man they say solicited and threatened to kidnap two girls.

Around 4:16 p.m. Feb. 27, a 14-year-old girl and a 15-year-old girl were at 6725 N. Clark St. when they were approached by a man. The man said to the girls in Spanish: “You look sexy. I want to hire you. You should come work for me,” police said in a community alert.

The girls then told the man they were 14 and 15 years old. The man acknowledged that fact and said “next time I see you, I’m going to take you,” according to police.

The man also tried to block the girls’ path as the sought to leave, police said. They were eventually able to flee.

The man is described as being 40 to 50 years old, around 5 feet tall and 120 to 150 pounds with short, grey hair. He is also described as having a red bump near his lip, crooked teeth and a high-pitched voice, police said. He was seen pushing a shopping cart.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call 312-744-8261.
