WRIGLEYVILLE — Small Cheval, Hogsalt Hospitality’s spinoff of the famous Au Cheval burger spot, is opening soon in Wrigleyville.
The Wrigleyville outpost at 1119 W. Waveland Ave. will be the sixth Small Cheval restaurant in Chicago since Hogsalt opened the first restaurant in 2015 in Bucktown.
The restaurant will will open this spring. Signs were put up outside the building Tuesday.

The fast-paced restaurant is based on Au Cheval, a restaurant in the West Loop by Hogsalt founder and CEO Brendan Sodikoff. Small Cheval offers a stripped-down menu with burgers, fries and shakes.
Burgers include the decadent Wagyu truffle cheeseburger and the a vegetarian plant-based burger, according to Hogsalt.
The new restaurant will be the first Small Cheval with a full-service bar, where guests can order beers and draft cocktails, according to Hogsalt. It’s also the first Small Cheval with a private dining space.
The Wrigleyville Small Cheval joins a number of other businesses in Gallagher Way, including Jeni’s Ice Cream, Brickhouse Tavern, Foxtrot Market and the Lucky Dorr craft beer bar.
