UPTOWN — Candidates for Uptown and Lakeview’s next alderperson will debate the 46th Ward’s issues at a forum Tuesday.
The 46th Ward aldermanic candidates forum is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Preston Bradley Center, 941 W. Lawrence Ave.
The event is free to attend and is being hosted by Uptown United and the Uptown Chamber of Commerce. Those who wish to submit a question for the forum can do so by clicking here.

Six candidates are running in the open race to succeed Ald. James Cappleman (46th), who is retiring after three terms.
The candidates are scientist Marianne Lalonde, political organizer Angela Clay, former congressional aide Kim Walz, federal administrative judge Patrick Nagle, bartender Roushaunda Williams and real estate agent Michael Cortez.

The candidates will square off in a Feb. 28 election. If no candidate secures 50 percent of the vote, the top two vote earners will proceed to a runoff April 4.
The 46th Ward includes much of Uptown plus a portion of Lakeview East.
