LOGAN SQUARE — Fast-casual salad chain Sweetgreen is opening a location in Logan Square next week.
Sweetgreen Logan Square is set to open Tuesday in Logan Apartments, 2500 N. Milwaukee Ave., the massive development that replaced the Discount Megamall.
To mark the opening, Sweetgreen will donate one meal to local food pantry Nourishing Hope for every meal sold Tuesday.
The chain is also offering previews and complimentary meals Friday and Saturday to people who RSVP online.
Sweetgreen serves customizable salads and grain bowls, a healthy alternative to fast food restaurants. The restaurant chain was founded by a trio of Georgetown University students in 2006 and has expanded into a nationwide staple.
The Logan Square restaurant is Sweetgreen’s 13th location in the city.
Sweetgreen is the latest tenant to move into the Logan Apartments complex, which is home to several retailers and restaurants, including a small-format Target, Big Wig Tacos, Jeni’s Ice Cream and K-Fire Korean BBQ.
