WEST TOWN — An annual shopping event returns to West Town this weekend to encourage people to support the neighborhood’s small businesses this holiday season.
West Town Winterfest runs 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday on Chicago Avenue and other business corridors in the area.
Sponsored by the West Town Chamber of Commerce, the event includes a holiday market at Homestead on the Roof, 1924 W. Chicago Ave., right above Roots Pizza. The market includes wares from local vendors and a photo op with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
The West Town Chamber is also sponsoring a Jolly Trolley that will ferry shoppers to boutiques, galleries, stores and more in the chamber’s service area.
There will be two three-hour tours that leave at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. from West Town Bakery, 1916 W. Chicago Ave., according to a news release. The tours will cover each of the shopping blocks and include a “checked shopping bag” service so attendees don’t have to worry about their gifts while they shop.
Tickets for the trolley are $20 and can be bought here. Specific businesses are also offering promotions and deals during the event.
